Why don't we have a day of acceptance - of ourselves, today?
Or in Psychology:
How often are you focusing on changing yourself? Always trying to do better at work, put in more hours, work smarter…..and then in our leisure life, not being content with where we are.
I am so guilty of this in all aspects of my life. For example:
So today I am going to accept myself. I am where I am, I am who I am. I'm happy to be in the process of continually getting better at all I do - but today, I am going to enjoy where I am right now.
Do you need a day of acceptance of yourself? I think we should try it once a week. Friday is acceptance day. There! Let's do it. We've done what we can all week. Now lets enjoy what we do today without trying to change it. Sing because I can. Learn and revel in the joy of it. Work and enjoy the connections.
ac·cept·ance

Acceptance
How often are you focusing on changing yourself? Always trying to do better at work, put in more hours, work smarter…..and then in our leisure life, not being content with where we are.
I am so guilty of this in all aspects of my life. For example:
- In my singing - I'm always focusing on trying to incorporate everything I've learned in my lesson…..always wanting the group to sing better. So much so, I forget to enjoy where I am right now in my singing and just enjoy what we are singing and the connections with others.
- In work - I'm working a new job for Ceres and so trying my best, trying to get a grips with everything, feeling bad when I don't do as I had hoped….instead of ever just recognizing the joy in what I am doing and the wonderful people I'm working with.
- In my studies - I'm trying to get everything done perfectly, figuring out how I can schedule everything, how to keep a balance….and forget just how fascinating what I'm learning is.
- With my friends, I'm trying hard, not wanting to let anyone down, worrying I am forgetting something I should be remembering….and not just having fun with them.
So today I am going to accept myself. I am where I am, I am who I am. I'm happy to be in the process of continually getting better at all I do - but today, I am going to enjoy where I am right now.

I accept myself today.

I made some raw sugar free and dairy free chocolates for my sweetheart today. I hadn't made dairy free white chocolate before...in fact, I've never made any white chocolate before!
Here they are:
Above shows his box of goodies including the strawberry hearts, strawberry and coconut white chocolate bark, and then the following dark chocolate barks: pomegranate and pink peppercorn; goldenberry; and heart sprinkles.
We are off to see the movie "Amour" for Valentine's day. Heard such good reviews about it and thought it apropos to see it on Valentine's day.
Hope you have a lovely day ie a day filled with with love.xxx

Over the past week, I've been in a sorting mood. I've sorted out the kitchen, the laundry room, and have made a big impact on the garage ( to be finished this week!). It's wonderful when it's done and you find space on your shelves or empty cupboards! What a good feeling.
It's a refreshing way to start the New Year with things in order and well organized - but this applies to more than just your home. Instead of making resolutions this year, why not do a bit of sorting in all areas of your life. Let's make some room on the shelves and empty cupboards in our work, play, and love lives, so that in 2013 there is room to learn new things, expand, meet new people, try something different.....
For example:
I want some room on the shelves and empty cupboards so that I can spend 2013 filling them up with things that are worthwhile and bring me happiness. So for the New Year, and onwards, I'll be sorting and making space for new things in my life.
Is it time for you to have a bit of a sort out and clear some space in certain aspects of your life, so there is room to expand, grow, and find more happiness? What will you make space for?

For example:
- what parts of my work can I sort out and discard that I no longer need, so there is room to take on a new project or learn new things?
- How do I waste my "play" time and could I throw out some of that to give me room for more fun play?
- What part of my exercise program do I no longer need so I can add a new aspect and challenge for myself?
- In my relationships, do I need to sort out my time so I have more quality time with the special people in my life?
